Art|Design - Cryptex Mirco SD Adapter

I saw this USB drive on Tumblr, and thought Wow, that's different.

The design by Stanislav Tatarinov takes cues from Leonardo Da Vinci's cryptex, a locking tube to hold small pieces of paper.

It's a clean use of space; on the microSD adapter option, the card inserts beneath the USB head. The locking mechanisms twist around the tube's axis, and four columns tie everything together. The concave square is a nice touch, as well. Even the hardware looks sharp.

Leather always adds some good look to a key chain, and the mechanical design of a digital tool makes for a great theme.

The Cryptex flash drive, made of durable metal and bonded leather is a secure 16 GB USB stick featuring a mechanical combination lock. The clever design of Stanislav Tatarinov from Siberia, Russia, is inspired by original sketches of Leonardo Da Vinci. Cryptex offers a stylish way to secure your data.
