This 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo is in excellent condition. Great ownership history, well maintained in stock condition. Car was purchased new in Lakewood Colorado, in 2008 the 911 Turbo moved to Nebraska. An excellent condition car that is ready for it’s next owner to enjoy it.
This car drives great, feels very good on the road. It’s nice to drive a unmodified, very original and well cared for 996 Twin Turbo. A true classic and legendary Porsche 911.
EXTERIOR
Arctic Silver Metallic paint is in excellent beautiful condition with minor light chips on front end. The wheels are in very good condition. Glass is good. The front windshield is original with some nicks and chips, yet no cracks. Rear spoiler has been updated with a new electric lift system.
INTERIOR
The Graphite Grey interior is excellent. Very clean, with very little (minor) scuffs or wear for a car of this age. The full leather interior smells great as well feels wonderful.
MECHANICALS
The 911 (996) Turbo star feature is the legendary water cooled 3.6L ‘Mezger’ engine. Hans Mezger had been designing Porsche powerplants since the Sixties. However, the term has only recently become synonymous with the engine fitted to the Turbo, GT2 and GT3 cars from the 996 to the end of the 997.2 series 911s. The ‘Mezger’ engine utilizes a true dry sump oil system thanks to its motorsport development. The engine was initially designed for the twin-turbocharged Porsche 911 GT1 Le Mans racer of the mid 1990’s. Thanks to its racing intentions, the motor doesn’t suffer from IMS bearing failures like the M96/ M97 series engines. The Mezger engine is also very similar in design to the engine used in the 962 prototype and the four-valve design heads were derived from the water-cooled Porsche 959 series cars. Basically the ‘Mezger’ engine is in a way a race developed and proven masterpiece.
This road going variant 2001 911 twin turbo-charged flat 6 engine produces around 415HP at 6,000 rpm. Six speed manual transmission connected with the AWD (all wheel driver) setup. This 911 recently received a service by EHRLICH MOTORWERKS with an oil service, brake fluid change, spark plugs and installation of a new spoiler lift components. The tires have good tread depth and even wear, yet are older. The car runs and drivers great, with smooth and strong boost, tracks straight and brakes excellent.
